Club Events

Below is an outline of the more "social" events planned for 2010.

We've also just added a Google Events Calendar (shown below). The "Agenda" view is quite useful but you may need to click on the "Look for more" link to get it to list more events - it advances a month or two at a time. It's also pretty sparsely populated right now..

It doesn't show our regular training times - for these please use the training page.

To get events added to the calendar, email events@3dtri.com.

January

Sunday Cycle & Running sessions
Weather permitting, club members enjoy a well deserved hot sup at the end of each Saturday run session and Sunday cycle session. With promises from Coach Stephen of stopovers during some of the 2010 sessions.

February

Monday 22nd - 6.30pm Wetsuit Test Night at the NAC.

March

Courtown

This Training & Social weekend generally consists of a cycle from Dublin to Courtown, Co Wexford and back to Dublin the next day. With some running and or swimming on both days. The spirit of the weekend is however of fun and enjoyment. With scheduled stops on the cycle for refreshment, a evening meal, some drinks and a bit of craic. All members are encouraged to partake in the weekend, even if it’s for the run, swim and a few social drinks.

April

Brick Sessions

These generally start after the clocks change in April. These sessions start at 9.30am on Saturday mornings, they consist of a cycle loop of a few kilometres, followed by a short run and a short rest, repeated a few times. The people partaking in the session often arrange to meet in the Phoenix Park Cafe directly after for coffee and or light lunch.
Pub Quiz (Charity - tbc)
2010 will be the first year for this event. Details will be posted on the website close to the event.

April to September

Races during the Tri Season

Club members who travel to races, where a overnight stay is the norm, are actively encouraged to arrange a meal in advance followed by some social drinks. Stick a post up and you’ll always get a few hungry heads, happy to tag along after a race, to discuss the highs, lows, river currents, pelotons of drafters and some sprint finishes.
Below are a list of races and restaurants club members have recommended. Where no name is allocated to a race, members are encouraged to take turns and book a restaurant in advance. (Post a story on the website requesting numbers of interest, and or email the club to insert your contact details for booking numbers on the social calendar).
