Club race - Fingal Sprint
You may be already aware that the 3D annual Fingal Sprint Tri is on Sunday 18th of May in the National Aquatic Centre in Abbotstown. www.fingalsprint.3dtri.com (already sold out btw).
The main criteria for staging a Triathlon Ireland sanctioned event is that each entrant has a fun, safe and fair race. Having a sufficient number of marshals gets us a long way towards achieving this aim.
I would like to please ask for members assistance in helping the club stage this race. In fact why not bring friends along to help too. ´U know the one who can’t get their head around your new hobby....` Everyone will be given a suitable role and be briefed so no one will be out of sorts. We will probably need about 70 marshals for various different roles.
Its early days but work behind the scenes has already begun. At this point maybe you could mark this weekend in your diary (17th & 18th May). Many hands make light work so collectivly we can stage a good (safe) race and have a bit of craic.

The Popes cross was a sea of 3d people this morning. 17 in
total. That’s some number. This was 2 groups, the boutique group and the
intermediate group. The boutique had anther 10 this week, which is a great
number out for the bank holiday weekend.

The Lisbon Half Ironman had almost 60 irish signed up for the 2008 edition. However, there were problems sending the bikes over and we thought we’d be stuck.

Howdy
I was out last night a party. I was leaving early (1am) to come home and get ready for the spin today. I was still up a 2am with all my gear laid out the floor. Don't laugh, I'm laying my sole bare here. Thats how I do it. Anyway with all my kit ready to go I was up this morning and headed off to the park, full in the knowledge that all was there. (Big mistake)!!!

Orca wetsuits are looking to come over to Ireland
to enable triathletes to try out their wetsuits. This will take place on Wed 7th May from 7pm - 10pm. at the National Aquatic Centre.

A Sunday Swim (wet, cold and fun)

There was a charity 2km sea swim for the RNLI organised by Rush Sailing Club and Irish Sub Aqua club at the esturary which Stephen, Paul and Lochlann and myself showed up for. On arrival looking out at the water and a couple of people stopped thing about hypothermia and started to remember Athlone and the number of people who didn't manage to complete 600m there!

R & R in Adelaide

Have been in Adelaide for the last few days since Tues. I was a little unsure about where I would be staying as I had made loose arrangements to stay with Grace Newhaven from Warmshowers who runs a bike website http://users.cobweb.com.au/~gloria/index.html#new
However he was away for a few days and was also having his house reroofed so was unable to host me. However he put me onto Rob Duncan who agreed to lokk after me at short notice. Rob and Helen are both touring cyclists and who have hosted many cyclists over the years.
